Roelofarendsveen – Een tribute zoals een tribute hoort te zijn: de Belgische band Rediohead zet zaterdag 12 mei Splotsz op z’n kop met hun vrijwel perfecte vertolking van de gelijknamige alternatieve rockband. Zin in een goed optreden? Kom lekker luisteren.
NKJB Hoogmade zoekt het met de samenwerking met Splotsz voor het eerst buiten de dorpsgrenzen. De club die al jaren bekend staat om de drukbezochte tributeband-optredens, verwacht in Splotsz een mooie locatie te hebben om perfect van de Radiohead-nummers te kunnen genieten.
Bekendste nummers
De jongens van Rediohead zijn dan ook niet de eersten de besten. De groep toert al sinds 2011 met hun show door heel Europa. Ze vertolken de meest bekende nummers van de oorspronkelijke band. Daarvoor maakten ze een mooie selectie uit verschillende albums van Radiohead, stuk voor stuk mijlpalen in de muziekgeschiedenis. Van The Bends tot de hoogtepunten van het alom geprezen OK Computer.
Maar ook de meer atmosferische tracks van het latere Kid A komen in het optreden terug. En natuurlijk In Rainbows, waarbij de rockmuziek van de eerdere albums lijkt te fuseren met de elektronische invloeden van hun latere werk. Fake Plastic Trees, Paranoid Android, Karma Police, No Surprises: alle bekende nummers komen vanavond voorbij.
Ogen dicht
Het optreden van Rediohead kenmerkt zich door één woord: energie. Daarin verschillen ze niets van het wereldberoemde origineel. De band uit Luik bestaat uit Thomas Grailet (leadzang, gitaar), Sébastien Etienne (drums), Justin Wansart (gitaar, zang), Jimmy Piérot (bas, zang) en Antoine Cornet (gitaar, zang). Een van de vele recensies luidt: ‘Als je de band met je ogen dicht beluistert, komen ze angstvallig dicht bij de echte sound van Thom Yorke en consorten.’ Wij zeggen: kom het zelf ervaren!
