Ronald Snijders werd geboren in 1951 te Paramaribo, als zoon van de bekend componist, fluitist en dirigent Eddy Snijders. Al vanaf de jaren zeventig is hij een der bekendste Surinaamse musici in Suriname, Nederland en daarbuiten. Hij is een muzikale wereldburger, creatieve duizendpoot en een buitengewoon veelzijdig en talentvol toonkunstenaar. Daarnaast is hij een top performer en componist die met name door zijn fluitspel bekendheid geniet. Wij zijn buitengewoon vereerd met zijn komst naar Wester-Amstel.
Snijders staat bekend om zijn veelzijdigheid, improvisatie en creativiteit en het contact dat hij maakt met het publiek. Surinaamse ritmen als kawina en kaseko worden gecombineerd of afgewisseld met funk, jazz, soul, Braziliaans en world. Ronald Snijders trad de afgelopen jaren op in onder andere VPRO Vrije Geluiden, The Great Wide Open, Het Bevrijdingsfestival, het Kwaku Summerfestival, Northsea Jazz festival, het Keti Koti festival en het Concertgebouw.
Snijders werd door zowel Suriname als Nederland geridderd. Hij kreeg ook de Bronzen Stier (Amsterdam), de Masra onderscheiding (Rotterdam) en de Lifetime Achievement Award (Utrecht). Op 7 december 2022 ontving Ronald Snijders de Boy Edgar Prijs, uitgereikt door het Fonds de Podiumkunsten voor zijn jarenlange bijdrage aan de jazz in Nederland.
Kaarten kosten 15 euro, vrienden van wester-amstel betalen 12,50.Er is gratis parkeergelegenheid op het terrein. Deuren openen om 14:30, na afloop is er gelegenheid voor een borrel.

Wester-Amstel is een buitenplaats uit 1662 en biedt een oase van rust, midden in de stad, midden op het platteland. Op een steenworp afstand van het drukke Amsterdamse stadsleven geniet u van het buitenleven op één van de mooiste plekjes van het groene Amstelland. Vrienden en vrijwilligers aangesloten bij de 'Stichting Vrienden van Wester-Amstel' zorgen ervoor dat de poort ook voor u geopend is. Meer info vindt u op: www.wester-amstel.nl.

I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?
The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
