Tawai is the word the nomadic hunter-gatherers of Borneo use to describe their inner feeling of connection to nature. Besides, it's the name of this mindaltering documentary. For four years, BBC TV-host, documentarian, indigenous rights advocate, author, explorer, trek leader and former Royal Marines commando, Bruce Parry travelled from the jungles of Malaysia to the the tributaries of the Amazon to find a deeper understanding of indigenous peoples and how their way of life can benefit us, Western people in an industrialized world.
What have we lost, and can we get it back again?
We are left in a state of pure joy and filled with profound gratitude to invite Bruce and screen the exclusive Dutch premiere of Tawai - A voice from the forest, at Wicked Thoughts #8.
This edition will be supported by our Shaman and good friend "Nak" and assistant Rita. Bruce will be here to answer all our questions regarding the making of Tawai and share his thoughts about our own survival and that of the planet.
