    WEST AFRICAN SOUNDSCAPES IS BACK: on 8 April we'll be transforming Mixtree into a remote tropical dancefloor in honour of the African motherland. Come and dance with us to the beat of Burkinabe, Guinean and Senegalese rhythms and tunes! Two bands performing and a workshop, followed by Zen Rockers' musical descent into the roots of reggae music... Everything you need to get your body shaking. Note it down!!! Friday 8 April, at Mixtree, second floor of OT301.

    ### 20:00 WORKSHOP with Robert Tydrych
    Robert is the co-founder of Guzanghida.
    You will have an opportunity to get familiar with the West-African drums (djembe, dundun, sangban, kenkeni), no experience required. During the workshop you will learn the traditional way of combining few different accompaniments to build up a melody.

    ### 21:30 FURAKE
    Furaké are three musicians inspired by West African music and culture who decided to produce their own repertoire combining ngoni, balaphone, dun duns and electronic sounds. A fresh new project started in Amsterdam by Hassie Dune, Marion Girard and Robert Tydrych.

    ### 22:30 GUZANGHIDA
    United in Amsterdam since 2011, Guzanghida are four musicians and a dancer with a passion for traditional rhythms, movements and songs from West Africa.
    What they study is mixed-up with their own ideas and influences, shaken, and put on stage for everyone to enjoy.

    ### 24:00 DJ SET with Zen Rockers
    Zen Rockers is an Amsterdam based collective project of 3 DJs playing exclusively with vinyl records. Uplifting vibes. Spreading Jahlove universally.
