Tell Me More is an experimental electronic showcase creating a platform for young and exciting makers in Amsterdam. During the third edition we are excited to host four up and coming electronic makers: tabla and electronic musician Bintang Manira Manik, material audio researcher Defiantly Harcore, experimental guitarist Ragnar Árni Ólafsson, and electro pop queen YKA. 

As always come and ask the artists  questions, ask them to tell you more about their work, or just come, have a drink, have a wiggle, and enjoy the shows.

Artist info

Bintang Manira Manik (ID) is a multidisciplinary artist exploring the transformative power of sound. With a foundation in percussion, ethnomusicology, and Indian classical music, he weaves traditional instruments such as the tabla into contemporary sonic landscapes using modern electronic techniques.

Guided by the belief that music is a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries, Bintang crafts immersive soundscapes that foster connection, reflection, and healing. His work honors cultural heritage while pushing the edges of creative expression. Projects like Wartakawarsa: Rites of the Souls exemplify his dedication to collaborative storytelling and using sound as a vehicle for addressing historical trauma.

Through performance, education, and experimentation, Bintang invites audiences to engage deeply with the intersections of sound, culture, and community—emphasizing music’s enduring role in unity and transformation.

Defiantly Hardcore is a moniker used by visual artist and experimental musician Mees Joachim (NL) to facilitate experiments with material based audio research.
Mees Joachim’s general practice as a musician is spearheaded by their fascination with ugliness, dissonance and all things anti-music, often mishmashing elements from a variety of genres and styles, using any and all instruments they can get their hands on, to form sound collages that are sometimes shaped like music.

Their live shows are erratic and improvisational in nature - Defiantly Hardcore’s performance during TMM#3 will see the artist perform renditions of past, present and future tracks, centered around the misuse of a guitar.

The artist has performed and showcased works in a variety of venues, such as Paradiso, de Tolhuistuin, TivoliVredenburg, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Gerrit Rietveld Academy, etc.
Their solo works have been previously published by Mahorka (BG) BBJTC (DE), C!A Records (US) and ADIEUX (self-run post-vanity label).

Ragnar Árni Ólafsson (IS) is a guitarist, composer and improviser from Iceland, working both as a solo creator and in various collaborative settings. He is interested in real time music creation, rawness, text, film and video, fourth wall breaking and community music among a host of other things. He presents an improvised set of electric guitar music, interlaced with shorter electronic works, texts and songs.

YKA’s music intertwines experimental electro-pop with singer-songwriter roots, moving between humor, vulnerability and raw mood shifts. With a background in performance and dance, they weave elements of movement and visual storytelling into their live sets, creating a concert setting with performative narratives and characters.
Blending voice, synths, drum machines, and non-conventional playing methods, YKA crafts intimate, experimental songs that pulse with quirky rhythms, infectious grooves, and unpredictable soundscapes. Their sound captures a balance between playful experimentation, nostalgic tones and catchy, offbeat melodies.


YKA released their first EP in 2022. After a period of pause - or maybe just in ambush - they're ready to climb back on the stage with the grit of a leopard, reviving some of their earlier songs and mixing them with new material.
