COURSE OVERVIEW
Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches have a key part to play in the use of AI and introducing AI to teams, products and organizations, acting as a catalyst for change. Through the proper use of AI tools, Scrum Masters, their teams and organization become more effective.
This course is an interactive, hands-on course designed to empower Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to understand, leverage and apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support their job, teams and organization.
What You Will Learn
- Explain key AI concepts, including machine learning, deep learning, generative AI and agentic AI
- Describe how AI supports effective Scrum Team facilitation and collaboration
- Discuss how AI tools can enhance the Scrum Master accountability through real-world use cases
- Demonstrate practical uses of generative AI tools to support the Scrum Team and Scrum events
- Demonstrate effective AI prompt engineering to get the desired results
- Integrate AI tools in day-to-day work
- Implement AI-informed behaviors in day-to-day work
- Apply ethical and responsible practices when adopting and working with AI
Professional Scrum Master Certification
All participants completing the Professional Scrum Master-AI Essentials course receive a password to take the Professional Scrum Master Essentials (PSM-AI Essentials) assessment.
The industry-recognized PSM-AI Essentials certification requires a minimum passing score of 85%. Class participants of official Scrum.org classes who attempt the PSM-AI Essentials assessment within 14 days of receiving their free password and do not score at least 85% will be granted a second attempt at no additional cost.

Hi, my name is Michel van der Meulen. I am a Professional Scrum Trainer (PST), Scrum Master, and Agile coach with deep roots in software development, requirements engineering, and business analysis. I help organizations, teams, and aspiring Scrum Masters embrace Agile through training, coaching, and collaborative sparring sessions, including tailored expertise in Agile requirements.
My journey started as a software developer, naturally collaborating with customers to build solutions that solved real problems and added genuine value. After a decade as a Business Analyst, I've seen both traditional and Agile approaches to requirements firsthand. What I've witnessed is troubling: rigid processes focused solely on delivering within time and budget often leave everyone disappointed, developers feel disconnected, users' problems remain unsolved, and the work loses its meaning.
This doesn't have to be the norm. Agile offers a better path: one where teams reconnect with the "why" behind their work, rediscover who they're serving, and experience the satisfaction of creating real value. My mission is to guide teams back to this essential way of working. I help them shift perspectives, experiment boldly, and take meaningful steps outside their comfort zones. This ignites fresh insights and sustainable change, enabling teams to inspect, adapt, and ultimately rediscover both effectiveness and joy in their work.
