The Big #TTIPalarm Festival is the first of its kind. A gathering of good people with art, lectures, workshops and delicious TTIP-free food, coming together to resist the unfair trade agreements threatening democracy. Together we will learn about the kind of trade that contributes to a sustainable world, and how we can defend ourselves against TTIP and CETA. With leading figures from the international Stop TTIP movement like John Hilary and Nick Dearden, concerned Dutch celebrities and music!
The TTIP negotiations are accelerating. The treaty between the European Union and Canada (CETA) is almost completed. But the negotiators have a long way to go and civil resistance is growing! More and more people understand that these monster agreements have far-reaching consequences for people, planet and democracy.
More than 110,000 people have signed a petition calling for a referendum. Last October (10/10/2015) 7,000 thousand people took to the streets of Amsterdam to march against TTIP and CETA. The Netherlands is not the only country where this debate has flared up. Now The Netherlands is President of the European Union, the TTIPalarm coalition invites a wide range of NGOs, farmers' organizations, entrepreneurs, active citizens, and the leaders in the European and Canadian TTIP debate for a festival with information, discussion, art and TTIP-free food.
