Is de wijze waarop Newton invulling gaf aan zijn professionele beroepspraktijk een uitzondering die de regel bevestigt of gebeurt het vaker dat fotografen relatief vrij om gaan met opdrachten? Hoe organiseert een commercieel fotograaf die ook ambities heeft ten aanzien van autonoom werk zijn praktijk? En hoe zorg je er als jonge fotograaf voor dat er een gewenste balans bestaat tussen werk in opdracht en vrij werk? Welke vrijheid is er? Hoe is tegenwoordig de verhouding tussen opdrachtgever en fotograaf? En welke rol spelen daarbij beeldredacteuren en agentschappen - agentschappen die de fotograaf vertegenwoordigen, maar ook agentschappen die de belangen van modellen moeten behartigen.
Tijdens deze thema-avond spreken wij over bovengenoemde vragen waarbij ruim aandacht is voor beeld. Geleid door Marcel Feil zullen de volgende vier mensen met elkaar in gesprek gaan:
- Rachid Naas (producent en visueel consultant)
- Martien Mellema (creative director Vogue)
- Wendelien Daan (fotograaf)
Marcel Feil zal tevens Carlijn Jacobs, opkomend modefotograaf, interviewen over haar ervaring in dit veld.
