De Griekse mythe 'Leda en de zwaan' vertelt het verhaal van de door schaamte overspoelde Leda.
Zeus was verliefd op deze al gehuwde koningin maar wist haar maar niet te verleiden. Hij besloot zichzelf te veranderen in een zwaan om zo Leda te overweldigen die negen maanden later twee kinderen van hem kreeg.
