De Canadese countryzanger Corb Lund komt op zondagmiddag 4 februari om 16.00 uur voor een optreden naar Kultuurfabriek Kooiaap aan de Leijester Hegedyk 27B in Oude Leije.
De muzikant heeft zich de afgelopen jaren in zijn thuisland Canada ontwikkeld tot een heuse countryster. Maar Lund weet dan ook precies waar hij het over heeft in zijn cowboyliedjes, want hij is geboren en getogen in een familie van ranchers en zat al op de rug van een paard toen hij nog maar nauwelijks kon lopen. In zijn jonge jaren verdiende hij de kost als stierentemmer op rodeoshows en dat is natuurlijk de beste CV die een aankomend countryster zich maar kan wensen. Toch is Lund geen zanger die in de voetsporen treedt van zijn befaamde landgenoten Ian Tyson en Hank Snow. Daar is zijn aanpak net iets te ,punky’ voor. Geen wonder: voordat Lund zich stortte op country, speelde hij een aantal jaren in een punkrockband. Met zijn heldere bariton en muzikale aanpak lijkt hij veel meer op Jason Ringenberg, een man met een bijna identieke voorgeschiedenis en muzikale interesses.
