George Zach (Greece) - George moved from Greece to study Biochemistry in Newcastle Upon Tyne and, in doing so, avoided joining the Greek army for his national service. He discovered stand-up comedy years later, his first gig being on St Patrick’s Day in a dark room above a pub in Newcastle’s city centre. Fortunately for him, it turned out that he had a grasp of the English language as well as a talent for the art of comedy and soon this “really likeable comic” went on to play all over the UK and abroad at some of the most prestigious comedy clubs, such as The Comedy Store and Glee. He has also appeared at the Edinburgh Festival in the CKP LunchTime Special. The army have issued a warrant in case he ever goes back to Greece and his Mum still tells people he is a Biochemist.
“Pulls it off well with a style that is thoughtful and unexpected” – Broadway Baby
“Accessible, likeable, his jokes are solid and his timing impeccable” – The List
Victor Pãtrãşcan (Romania) - Victor is a pretentious stand up comedian and outrageous social commentator. Victor is the first Romanian to perform stand-up comedy in somewhat broken English. Since 2012, he has told his jokes in front of a crowd of people in the UK, Germany, Holland, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, United Arab Emirates and Romania. Victor's curiosity surpasses his fear. He likes to poke the truth with a stick and see if there's any life left in it. His honest, thought-provoking and unapologetic style will leave you giggling all the way home.
Then we are back on Thurs, Nov 25 with more comics from around the world, including main acts Sean Finnerty (Ireland) and Ger Staunton (Ireland).
