Wij weten natuurlijk allemaal al lang dat jij niet normaal slim bent. Maar het wordt toch tijd om dit te bewijzen tijdens de ultieme digitale Hanze Pubquiz Battle. Doe mee samen met je vrienden, vereniging of collega’s het intellectuele slagveld tegemoet en bewijs voor eens en altijd wie het allergrootste brein van de Hanzehogeschool heeft tijdens dit epische vragenvuur. Schrijf je in en doe mee op maandag 14 december van 20:30 tot 22:00!

We doen dit natuurlijk niet alleen maar om gigantische ego’s te creëren. De Hanze Pubquiz Battle is namelijk voor het goede doel: met jouw deelname steun je hoger onderwijs in landen waar dit niet vanzelfsprekend is.

De opbrengst van deze pubquiz gaat naar de Hanze University Foundation, zij zetten zich in voor het toegankelijk maken van beroepsonderwijs in verschillende landen binnen Afrika. Door de gevolgen van Corona, zijn veel families van studenten hun inkomen kwijt geraakt en kan het collegegeld niet meer betaald worden.  en soms onmogelijk door te weinig data of geen digitale middelen om op afstand les te krijgen.  

Hanze University Foundation, Hanze Cultuur en Debat en Stichting Studenten Activiteiten slaan de handen ineen om door deze pubquiz de Hanze community: medewerkers én studenten in beweging te brengen. Share your talent, move the world!

Toch samen in donkere tijden & lokale ondernemers

Naast de steun aan onze collega’s in verschillende landen in Afrika, steunen we met dit initiatief ook lokale ondernemers. De eerste 50 deelnemers krijgen van ons een borrelplank van lokale ondernemer: Grand Café Groningen voor het gereduceerde tarief van €3! Dit doen we bewust. Door de ontwikkelingen omtrent corona zijn veel horecaondernemers in zwaar weer beland. Onze oproep is dan ook steun de lokale ondernemers en horeca. En gun jezelf een avondje met een lekkere snack als brainfood voor de quiz! Ben je net te laat voor het gereduceerde pakket? Dit pakket is ook los te bestellen. 

Tenslotte besteden we nog graag aandacht aan het groeiende gevoel van eenzaamheid, terwijl de december maande juist staan voor samenzijn en samen dingen doen. Met de pubquiz hopen we zoveel mogelijk mensen digitaal bij elkaar te brengen!

Wie mag er mee doen?

De quiz is georganiseerd vanuit de Hanzehogeschool en voor alle studenten en medewerkers. Bij het aanschaffen van een ticket voor de quiz, kun je aangeven met welk team je mee doet. Zodra je je op 14 december aanmeld voor de quiz via de link in jouw e-mail box, kun je jouw team via een drop-down menu aanklikken. Heb je geen team om mee te spelen? Er is ook een team individuele spelers dat je dan kunt selecteren. 

Iedere speler doet actief mee met de quiz en alle individuele antwoorden worden geregistreerd en tellen mee voor jouw team én individuele score.

Ben je geen student of medewerker bij de Hanzehogeschool? Dan mag je ook gerust meedoen en/of je eigen team aanmelden. 

We adviseren een team grootte van 6-8 deelnemers. Doen er meer dan 8 personen mee aan jouw team? Als jouw team het winnende team is, krijgen alleen de 8 best scorende deelnemers binnen het team een prijs. 

Wat kun je winnen?

De best scorende individuele deelnemers loten voor een van de volgende prijzen:

- €50,- waardebon voor restaurant Moro

- €25,- waardebon voor restaurant Bodega y Tapas

- €10,- waardebon voor restaurant Toko Semarang

Het best scorende team krijgt ook een prijs, deze wordt later bekend gemaakt. Doen er meer dan 8 personen mee aan jouw team? Als jouw team het winnende team is, krijgen alleen de 8 best scorende deelnemers binnen het team een prijs.

Snel antwoorden = meer punten

De quiz bestaat uit 9 rondes, van ieder 10 vragen over uiteenlopende onderwerpen. Wie het snelst kan antwoorden, krijgt ook automatisch meer punten.

Individueel, maar ook in een team!

De vragen zijn in het Nederlands óf in het Engels (geef dit aan bij aanschaf van het ticket) en je speelt de quiz op een toestel naar keuze (telefoon/tablet/laptop). Wil je graag samen met vrienden spelen? Zorg dan dat ieder teamlid een eigen ticket heeft aangeschaft en bel tijdens de quiz met je vrienden! De quiz heeft geen video en geluid, dus dit stoort niet met jouw videocall.

Mail met unieke link

Na bestelling ontvang je een bevestigingsmail van Billetto met daarin een unieke link naar de quiz. Deze is gekoppeld aan jouw e-mail adres. Heb je deze niet ontvangen? Controleer dan je spambox, mogelijk zit hij hierin. Je kan tot en met 14 december 20.00 je ticket kopen. Loop je ergens tegenaan? Mail dan naar: hanzeuniversityfoundation@org.hanze.nl.

Meer over de Back on Track beurzen

Voor veel studenten in ontwikkelingslanden is het niet vanzelfsprekend post-covid19 terug te keren naar school. Niet vanwege een aanhoudende lockdown of vanwege gezondheidsredenen, maar vanwege de ontstane economische crisis. Tijdens de lockdown is het collegegeld van de studenten opgegaan aan de eerste levensbehoeftes van hun families en is er geen geld om terug te gaan naar school.

Om onze partner scholen, hun personeel en de studenten te steunen willen wij Back on Track beurzen aanbieden. Voor €500 komt een student het eerste semester door en heeft de familie tijd om te sparen voor het tweede semester. De beurzen worden beschikbaar gesteld aan studenten die de afgelopen 2 jaar begonnen zijn met hun studie en nu niet de kans hebben om hun opleiding af te ronden.

Hanze University Foundation

De Hanze University Foundation is een zelfstandige stichting verbonden aan de Hanzehogeschool Groningen die een beroep doet op de maatschappelijke betrokkenheid van medewerkers, studenten, alumni en bedrijven in de regio. De Foundation richt zich op het bieden van beroepsonderwijs aan jonge mensen in ontwikkelingslanden.

De Hanze University Foundation is de motor achter een veelheid van ontwikkelingsprojecten vanuit de Hanzehogeschool Groningen. This event is not only organized to boost gigantic egos. The Hanze pub quiz Battle is a charity event: with your participation, you are supporting higher education in developing countries.

The raised funds will go to the Hanze University Foundation, they are committed to making higher education accessible for everyone in various countries in Africa. Due to COVID-19, many families have lost their incomes and are no longer able to afford the tuition fees, or they don't have the financial or digital means to follow education online remotely.

Together in dark times & local businesses

In addition to supporting our colleagues and fellow students in various countries in Africa, we also support local businesses in Groningen. Allow yourself a treat and give yourself some brain food during the quiz and pre-order a snack plate! 

Early bird deal: the first 50 people to snag a snack plate get it for a reduced price of €3, instead of €15. They can be picked up on Monday, December 14th at Zernike or Grand Café Groningen. (The full price is sponsored to support our local Grand Café). 

We would also like to pay extra attention to the growing feeling of isolation and loneliness among students, while the month of December is all about spending time together, most people are more lonely than ever. With the pub quiz we like to bring together online as many people as possible!

Who can join?

The quiz is hosted by Hanze University of Applied Sciences and is for all students and staff members. When you are purchasing your ticket, you can announce your team. When you log in on the 14th of December with the link in your e-mail inbox, you can select your team with a drop down menu. If you don't have a team to play with, you can select the team of individual players. 

Every player is actively participating in the quiz. All individual answers will be registered and count for your team-score ánd individual score. 

If you are not a student or staff member of Hanze University of Applied Sciences, do feel welcome to join and/or to join with your own team!

Each team should consist of 6 to 8 people, if there are more than 8 people in the winning team, , only the 8 best scoring participants will receive the group prize.

What can you win?

The best scoring individual participants will win one of the following prices:

- €50,- voucher for restaurant Moro

- €25,- voucher for restaurant Bodega y Tapas

- €10,- voucher for restaurant Toko Semarang

The best scoring team will also win a prize, which will be announced later. If your team has more than 8 participants, only the 8 best scoring participants will receive a prize.

Quick answer = more points

The quiz consists of 9 rounds, of 10 questions each with different topics. Who comes up with the quickest answers, will score extra points.

Individual, but not alone

The questions are in Dutch or English (you make that choice when purchasing the ticket) and you play the quiz on a device of your choice: (phone/tablet/laptop). If you are playing in a team, every player answers the question individually. These answers contribute to the team's total score. Make sure every team member has purchased a ticket and consult with your team members during the quiz! The quiz contains no video or sounds, so it will not interrupt your video call.

Mail with a unique link

After purchasing the ticket, you will receive a confirmation email from Billetto. One week before the quiz, you will receive a link to the quiz. Your ticket is matched with your e-mail address, which is the e-mail address you are logging in with. If you have purchased multiple tickets, please send the payment confirmation stating the number of tickets and the e-mail addresses of the other participants to hanzeuniversityfoundation@org.hanze.nl. More about Back on Track scholarships

For many students in developing countries it is no option to return to school or to continue education online. Not because of the continuing lockdown or health issues, but because of the economic crisis. During the lockdown the money reserved for tuition fees has been used for basic needs and there is no money to go back to school.

To support the partner institutions and their staff members and students, we are offering Back on Track scholarships. For €500 a student can study for one more semester and the family has time to "get back on track" and save money for the following semester. The scholarships are available for students who have started in the past two years and are unable to finalize their studies without the scholarship.

Hanze University Foundation

The Hanze University Foundation is an independent foundation connected to Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen which makes an appeal to the social involvement of employees, students, alumni and regional companies. The Foundation focuses on providing vocational education to young people in developing countries.
